THE SCARS THAT MADE US, an all-new standalone new adult romance from Inda Herwood, is NOW LIVE!
I should know. I was handed one on my eighteenth birthday by my mogul of a father. And it’s all because he refuses to believe that I can take care of myself, that I don’t need a man to fall back on in case my college dreams fail. But as much as I hate to admit it, his doubt comes from a logical place. It all stems from the nightmare incident that happened to me when I was seven years old. An event that has left scars of both the physical and emotional variety on me, leaving my body weaker than most.
But what is the ultimatum, you ask?
I either marry a man of his choosing for a stable financial future, or else I don’t get his check to go to college and complete my dreams of becoming a doctor.
Tell me, how do you trust a man who only wants to marry you for the check your father is so obviously writing him? The answer is you don’t.
But when Jagger Wells, my ridiculously gorgeous intended, explains the real reason behind his going along with this scheme, I begin to see the man beyond the pretty face; a guy just trying to do right by his family. And I decide that maybe there’s a way we can both get what we want without having to sign a marriage certificate in the process. All it would require is a little acting on our part and a couple of well-placed lies.
After a while, though, it doesn’t feel like we’re tricking our families anymore, but ourselves. That’s when lines blur, feelings become something real, and the truth is ultimately questioned.
In the end, I discover that I am not the only one with scars.

The Scars That Made Us was a unique, sweet, funny, emotional, and entertaining standalone new adult romance, and I truly enjoyed it!The storyline and characters were amazing, and I loved the author’s writing style. Inda Herwood is an extremely talented and brilliant author, and I have loved all of her books so far. Ms. Herwood creates the perfect balance of romance, humor and wit, and drama and angst every single time, and she definitely doesn’t get the recognition she deserves. The Scars That Made Us was another MUST READ from Inda Herwood, and I can’t wait to read more from her!
The storyline was unique and unlike anything I’d read before. The plot was emotional and heartbreaking at times, but the author provided plenty of comic relief that helped offset some of the more serious moments throughout. Some parts were better than others, and there were a few things I didn’t love and wanted a little more from, but otherwise The Scars That Made Us was an amazing and entertaining read from beginning to end. It checked all of my boxes for a new adult romance, and I would definitely recommend one-clicking it today!
The characters were excellent and my favorite part of the book. Jagger and Cyvil were absolutely wonderful, and I loved them and their story so much. I loved their personalities and chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from both Jagger and Cyvil’s point of view, and all of their banter and interactions with each other. Inda Herwood also created an amazing cast of secondary characters, with the exception of a few, and I loved the extra humor and entertainment they added to the story. They definitely made me smile and laugh-out-loud on more than one occasion, and if there’s one thing I love while reading a book, it’s if it makes me laugh a lot. Jagger and Cyvil’s story was incredibly unique, and although it was an emotional and sometimes difficult journey, every single moment was completely worth it in the end. The Scars That Made Us was an emotional yet romantic, funny, uplifting, and unforgettable read, and I was very happy with the conclusion to Jagger and Cyvil’s story.
The Scars That Made Us was a unique, sweet, humorous, emotional, and entertaining standalone new adult romance, and I would HIGHLY recommend it! Inda Herwood did an amazing job with this book, and I was very pleased with the outcome to Jagger and Cyvil’s story. If you’re looking for books with unique storylines, sweet romances, emotions of every kind, and endless amounts of humor, then you should definitely check out all of Inda Herwood’s novels!

About Inda Herwood
There are a lot of things Inda Herwood is obsessed with, but writing and reading are her biggest addictions. All day from the moment she gets up she’s thinking about book ideas, finding new series to read, or actually writing (when she really should be editing) her newest brain child. Her goal in life is to fit as much humor and sarcasm into a book as possible.
She also loves drawing, painting, watching football and hockey while yelling at the tv like a good American, and spending time with her family.
