Do you need a proofreader?

First impressions are extremely important, and you usually only get one chance to make a great one. If you are ready to publish, or have already published, your novel and are looking for a pair of eagle eyes to do a final once-over on your manuscript, you’ve come to the right person.

Proofreading is a passion of mine, and I’m very fortunate to have worked with New York Times, USA Today, and Amazon bestselling authors in perfecting their manuscripts. I pride myself in being personable, professional, and providing a thorough line-by-line proofing in a timely and efficient manner. I am only human, but strive for perfection in my work and pay great attention to detail. I am meticulous when it comes to proofreading, and I promise to do my absolute best marking any and all spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors, as well as other common mistakes and inconsistencies sometimes easily overlooked in your manuscript. I proofread post-edit and previously published works of fiction. I use the Merriam-Webster Dictionary and other online resources for reference, unless directed otherwise.

New/Potential Clients: I know it’s difficult to trust someone you’ve never worked with before. To ease any doubt you might have about my proofing skills, I offer a five-page complimentary proofread to every author that I haven’t worked with previously. If you are interested in the partial comp and would like to see a sample of my proofreading service, please indicate YES on the proofreading form below and we’ll go from there.

Partial Proofreading Comp offer subject to change without prior notice.

Please Note:

I only proofread manuscripts that have been completely edited. I reserve the right to return a manuscript if there are editing issues. Please ensure your manuscript has already been completely edited before sending it to me for proofreading.

What does my proofreading service provide?

I’m a meticulous proofreader that will do one thorough line-by-line read-through of your manuscript to look for typographical, grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors, as well as formatting issues and inconsistencies sometimes easily overlooked, including, but not limited to, all of the following:

  • Spelling
  • Grammar
  • Punctuation
  • Capitalization
  • Typos
  • Incorrect/Missing/Extra Words
  • Chapter Header Inaccuracies
  • Inconsistencies
  • Tense Errors

I only proofread post-edit and previously published works of fiction. I accept manuscripts in most genres, however, I have the most experience proofreading romantic fiction, such as contemporary romance, romantic comedy, sports romance, romantic suspense, etc.

I accept manuscripts in the following format:

  • Microsoft Word Document

I use Microsoft Word with Track Changes and comments to mark any errors I may come across in your manuscript. That way it will be easier for you to review any changes you may need to make before publication. No manuscript is one hundred perfect, so I highly encourage you to carefully review the final manuscript before publishing.
