The Bad Boy Is Back
Evan Downey needs a new beginning. Since the death of his wife five years ago, the brilliant tattoo artist has shut himself away in a prison of grief that not even his work can break him out of – and what’s worse, Evan knows his son Lyon is bearing the brunt of his seclusion. Moving back to the lake town of Evergreen Cove where he spent his childhood summers is his last chance for a fresh start.
Charlotte Harris knows she owes it to her best friend’s memory to help Evan and his son find their way again, but she can’t stop her traitorous heart from skipping a beat every time she looks into Evan’s mesmerizing eyes. Charlotte is determined to stay strictly in the Friend Zone – until a mind-blowing night knocks that plan by the wayside. Now, if they’re brave enough to let it, Charlotte and Evan might just find a love capable of healing their broken hearts . . .
~Review~
“Bringing Home the Bad Boy” by Jessica Lemmon was an excellent contemporary romance, and I immensely enjoyed reading Evan and Charlotte’s story. The storyline and characters were absolutely superb and hooked me from the very beginning. Evan, Charlotte, and Lyon were amazing and captured my heart immediately. The secondary characters were great and very entertaining as well. I loved Evan and Charlie’s chemistry together and how their relationship progressed throughout the book. I also loved that it was told from both character’s POV. It added extra depth and meaning to the story, and made it even better in my opinion. Evan and Charlie were perfect for each other, and even though they had gone through so much, both in the past and present, I thought they made an excellent couple. I loved their personalities and how they balanced each other out well. Evan certainly had a wicked tongue and could definitely get you hot and bothered, but also make your heart melt at the same time. I was so thrilled with the conclusion and thought it was a perfect way to end the book. It definitely made me smile :) This was my first Jessica Lemmon novel, and it most definitely won’t be the last. I loved her writing style and thought she did a phenomenal job with the storyline and characters. I honestly loved everything about it and thought it was an amazing start to the Second Chance series. I cannot wait to read Donovan and Sofie’s story in “Rescuing the Bad Boy” this May!
