Synopsis
Men suck.
They break you. Leave you. Take everything until there’s nothing left. And frankly, I’m done allowing them to make me feel insignificant. So, forget men. I’ll just throw myself into my job, because at least that never fails me.
Jackson has other plans, though. I refuse to be impressed by his perfect body, the cute dimple on his cheek, or the rugged stubble on his face. Jackson Cole can be resisted.
But, I’m only fooling myself.
He’s going to wear me down. I can feel it. In the end he’ll prove that once again, I’m no one’s beloved.

Review
Beloved was my first novel by Corinne Michaels, and I really enjoyed her writing style and the storyline and characters she created. It took me a little while to get invested in the story and characters, but once I did I really enjoyed reading the book.
Catherine and Jackson were good characters and I enjoyed reading the first part of their story. I liked their personalities and the chemistry between them was undeniable. I liked how their relationship progressed, although it seemed to move pretty fast in my opinion. I didn’t connect with Catherine and Jackson as much as I hoped I would, but I still liked the book and want to read the conclusion to their story in Beholden. My emotions were definitely all over the place while reading this book. Catherine and Jackson annoyed and frustrated me from time to time with some of the choices they made, although it was mainly Catherine. I wished Beloved had been written in both Catherine and Jackson’s POV, instead of just Catherine’s. There was a chapter told from Jackson’s perspective at the end, but I still would have loved more from his POV. I didn’t really learn much about him and his past in Beloved, so I’m hoping I’ll get to know more in Beholden. I’m not a huge fan of books that end in cliffhangers, although I knew Catherine and Jackson’s story was a duet, so I knew to expect a cliffhanger. I’m just glad I own Beholden so I don’t have to wait to find out how their story ends.
Beloved wasn’t my favorite read of 2017 by any means, but it was a great start to the Salvation series, and I’m looking forward to reading more about all of the characters, especially Catherine and Jackson.

Yes. I’m about a third of the way through so far. The drama is a little much for me at times and I hope it starts getting better soon, but for the most part I’m enjoying it.

I really loved this duet, well not as much as the Consolation duet, but this one was good too. But you are right with the fast-paced relationship progress.

I liked Catherine & Jackson’s duet, but it definitely wasn’t what I hoped it would be. However, I’m still excited to read the Consolation duet and Defenseless.
