Book Review – Rebel Heir (Rush Series Duet, #1) by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward

Synopsis

How to kick off a great summer in the Hamptons:

Snag a gorgeous rental on the beach. Check.

Get a job at a trendy summer haunt. Check.

How to screw up a great summer in the Hamptons:

Fall for the one guy with a dark leather jacket, scruff on his face, and intense eyes that doesn’t fit in with the rest of the tony looking crowd.  A guy you can’t have when you’ll be leaving at the end of the season.

Check. Check. Check.

I should add—especially when the guy is your sexy, tattooed God of a boss.

Especially when he not only owns your place of employment but inherited half of the town.

Especially when he’s mean to you.

Or so I thought.

Until one night when he demanded I get in his car so he could drive me home because he didn’t want me walking in the dark.

That was sort of how it all started with Rush.

And then little by little, some of the walls of this hardass man started to come down.

I never expected that the two of us, seemingly opposites from the outside, would grow so close.

I wasn’t supposed to fall for the rebel heir, especially when he made it clear he didn’t want to cross the line with me.

As the temperature turned cooler, the nights became hotter.  My summer became a lot more interesting—and complicated.

All good things must come to an end, right?

Except our ending was one I didn’t see coming.

Rebel Heir is the first book in the Rush Series Duet.  Book Two, Rebel Heart, will release six weeks later on May 22, 2018.

Review

NO SPOILERS!

Rebel Heir was so freaking amazing and I absolutely loved it! Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward never cease to surprise and blow me away, both with their co-written books and individual ones, and they did it again with Rebel Heir. The storyline, characters, and writing style were phenomenal, and I absolutely loved them with all of my heart. Rebel Heir was an insanely sexy, sweet, addicting, and entertaining start to the Rush Series Duet, and I can’t freaking wait to read the conclusion in Rebel Heart!

Rush and Gia were amazing (although I don’t think that word does them enough justice) and I honestly loved them and their story with all of my heart. I loved their personalities and red-hot chemistry together, and how the first part of their story progressed. I loved reading the book from both Rush and Gia’s POV, and all of their banter and interactions with each other. It took me a little while to warm up to Rush, but once I did, I was a complete goner. He is definitely my new favorite book boyfriend, and I’m totally envious of Gia. I loved Gia right from the start and fell even more in love with her as the book progressed. There were plenty of shocking and unexpected surprises throughout (it wouldn’t be a Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward novel without them), although I had a pretty good idea of what might happen at the end, and it did. Rush and Gia were both phenomenal and I can’t wait to read the rest of their truly amazing, unforgettable, and unputdownable story in Rebel Heart!

Rebel Heir was a sexy, addicting, and immensely entertaining start to the Rush Series Duet, and I absolutely loved it with all of my heart and soul! I truly can’t recommend this book (and all of Vi’s and Penelope’s books) enough. They are by far two of my top favorite contemporary romance authors, and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Rebel Heir was everything I dreamed and hoped it would be and so much more, and I am so freaking excited to get my hands on Rebel Heart in May!
