Book Review – Not So Nice Guy by R.S. Grey

41051411Synopsis

A full-length STANDALONE romantic comedy from USA TODAY bestselling author R.S. Grey.

“Oh my god. Who is that?”

I get asked this question a lot.

“Oh him?” I reply. “That’s just Ian.”

Just Ian is the biggest understatement of the century. Just the Mona Lisa. Just the Taj Mahal. Just Ian, with his boring ol’ washboard abs and dime-a-dozen dimpled smile.

Just Ian is…just my best friend.

We’re extremely close, stuck so deep inside a Jim-and-Pam-style friendzone everyone at work assumes we’re a couple—that is until one day, word spreads through the teacher’s lounge that he’s single. Fair game. Suddenly, it’s open season on Ian.

He should be reveling in all the newfound attention, but to our mutual surprise, the only attention he seems to want is mine

He’s turning our formerly innocent nightly chats into X-rated phone calls. Our playful banter sports a new, dangerous edge.

I want to assume he’s playing a prank on me, just pushing my buttons like always—but when Ian lifts me onto the desk in my classroom and slides his hands up my skirt, he doesn’t leave a lot of room for confusion.

I’m a little scared of things going south, of losing my best friend because I can’t keep my hands to myself. So, I’m just going to back away and not return this earth-shattering kiss—oh who am I kidding?!

Goodbye Ian, ol’ buddy, ol’ pal!

Helloooo mister not so nice guy.

NOT SO NICE GUY is a full-length romantic comedy. For a limited time, I’ve also included an excerpt from my #1 bestseller THE ALLURE OF JULIAN LEFRAY!

Review

NO SPOILERS!

Not So Nice Guy was a sexy, funny, and delightful standalone friends-to-lovers romantic comedy, and I absolutely loved it! The storyline and characters were amazing, and I loved R.S. Grey’s writing style and sense of humor. I laughed, I smiled, I swooned, and so much more while reading Not So Nice Guy, and it has been one of my favorite books from R.S. Grey so far!

The storyline was very entertaining and I loved it so much. The friends-to-lovers trope is one of my favorite romance genres, and Not So Nice Guy hit all of my checklist points. It had steamy heat, laugh-out-loud humor, an envious best friends relationship, and best of all had amazing and super likable/lovable characters. Not So Nice Guy was so much more than I expected, and I loved every moment from start to finish. It has definitely been one of R.S. Grey’s best works to date.

The characters were amazing. Ian Fletcher and Samantha (Sam) Abrams were quirky, funny, and oh so lovable, and I completely adored them and their story. They have been two of my favorite characters from R.S. Grey so far, and I fell head over heels in love with them. I loved their personalities and red-hot chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from both Ian and Sam’s point of view, and all of their banter and interactions with the each other. There were so many hilarious, sweet, and romantic moments throughout, and although it wasn’t always a walk in the park, I couldn’t have been happier with the conclusion to Ian and Sam’s story.

Not So Nice Guy was a sexy, hilarious, and entertaining standalone romantic comedy, and I would HIGHLY recommend it! R.S. Grey did a phenomenal job with this friends-to-lovers romance, and I was very pleased with the outcome to Ian and Sam’s story. Some of this author’s romantic comedies have been hit or miss for me in the past, but she has truly outdone herself with all of her 2018 releases so far, and I can’t wait to devour the next one!
