ABRAHAM DAVIS—Honest Abe to his friends—IS IN OVER HIS HEAD…

He’s a fixer and a do good-er. The all-knowing, resident “grandfather” on the wrestling team who everyone relies on to fix their problems. His teammates go to him for everything; advice, homework, or when they need a sober driver at three in the morning–whether he likes it or not.

Abe’s current mission is easy: mend his roommates broken heart by helping him find a girlfriend on the LoveU app–without getting caught in the lie…

SKYLAR GABRIEL. IS. OVER. IT.

Over her bad grades. Over her meddling older brother and his two best friends. And over dating douchebags. What she wants to know is: where have all the nice guys gone?

She longs for a handsome, sweet, and honest guy who can make her laugh. In one last ditch effort to prove that he exists—Skylar turns to LoveU.

On her worst day, Skylar has no filter (it’s a miracle she hasn’t been ditched mid-date).
On her best, she’s as wholesome, and sweet, as pie.
On Thursday? She matches with Abraham Davis’s roommate.

Skylar Gabriel is falling for the wrong guy—she just doesn’t realize it yet.

Why?

BECAUSE ABE DAVIS IS A LIAR.

NO SPOILERS!

The Lying Hours was a fun, steamy, and hilarious standalone romantic comedy in the How to Date a Douchebag series, and I loved the storyline and characters Sara Ney created!

The storyline was unique and even better than I anticipated. I’ve never read anything like the one Sara Ney crafted in The Lying Hours, and while I didn’t always love every aspect of the plot, it was very enjoyable from beginning to end, with a few surprising twists. Ney’s writing style and hilarious sense of humor never fail to disappoint or hook me in. She made me laugh out loud numerous times throughout and I loved every minute of it. I really enjoyed Abe and Skylar’s story, and while I loved the surprise in the epilogue, I would have loved something more with Abe and Skylar. That’s the main reason I didn’t give The Lying Hours five stars.

The characters were awesome. I loved Abe and Skylar so much, even though I didn’t always like what they did or didn’t do. Sometimes they frustrated and annoyed me, but for the most part they were very likable and lovable characters that were easy to connect with and root for. They had great personalities and smoking hot chemistry together, and I enjoyed how their relationship progressed throughout. I also loved most of the secondary characters, especially Skylar’s roommate. She was a riot and made me laugh out loud so many times, I lost count. Abe’s roommate was a douche and I didn’t like him at all, but luckily he didn’t ruin the book for me.

The Lying Hours was a fun, sexy, and entertaining addition to the How to Date a Douchebag series that I would highly recommend! Sara Ney did a phenomenal job with Abe and Skylar’s story, and I can’t wait to read more in the How to Date a Douchebag world and other romantic comedies from this author!

4.5 STARS
