*No Spoilers, I Promise*
Finally, FINALLY a book (albeit short) from Aiden St. Delphi’s POV! It’s about freaking time! I loved “Elixir” even though it was a bit heartbreakingly tragic to read. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed it very much. I only say this because Alex was not her usual spunky, sarcastic, and defiant self; which I sorely missed.
All that aside, I really did love this novella and enjoyed it immensely. I never get tired of reading more about the intricate and unique storyline and all of the amazing characters from the Covenant Series. Everything is always so detailed, and although this novella was only seventy-four pages long, a lot more happened than I expected. Aiden, Alex, Deacon, Luke, Apollo, Marcus, Solos, and yes… even Lea, completely stole my heart – not that some of them hadn’t already before – and made the book that much better to read. I can’t wait to read more about all of them in the books to come!
Aiden, dear gods, he was truly perfection at its finest. I loved how his character was strong, compassionate, and protective – among other swoon-worthy characteristics – and he was so incredibly good to Alex, even when she was saying horribly hurtful things to him. He still loved her and wanted to do what was right for her, even if it killed him and his soul in the process. Honestly, I wish he were real so that I could meet him in person. In fact, I would love to meet all of the characters in real life, with the exception of the evil ones of course. I have connected with all of them so easily and feel like they are a part of my life and family. I will be extremely sad when this series is over, but I will always hold them near and dear to my heart for eternity.
“Elixir” was a wonderful Covenant novella, and even though it was slightly heartbreaking, the conclusion was much better than I had anticipated it would be; even though it was a cliffhanger. *Frowns* Thank the gods the next installment, “Apollyon,” has already been released so now I don’t have to wait. Hallelujah!
Thank you for making my life worth living for, Jennifer L. Armentrout! You are truly amazing and awe-inspiring!
