*No Spoilers, I Promise*
Oh my goodness, I am so emotional right now, having just recently finished reading “Sentinel.” I almost don’t even know where to begin. I am so freaking happy yet incredibly sad all at once. I was absolutely thrilled how the Covenant Series ended, but am so extremely depressed that it’s over. I will forever hold this series and its characters near and dear to my heart, and I shall treasure them both for eternity.
I completely fell in love with this series from the moment I read Alex’s first line in “Daimon,” and I was so thrilled by the way it came to a conclusion. The entire series from start to finish was a roller coaster ride of a variety of emotions, but I am so freaking thankful and ecstatic that I discovered this series and gave it a chance. It was definitely a chance I will NEVER regret. From the beginning to the end, I was in awe; completely captivated and on the edge of my seat. I was literally enthralled by everything that happened, and boy, did a LOT happen. Many events will probably shock and surprise you – what JLA book doesn’t? – but I truly believe you will be 99% happy by the outcome of this book. I went through a smorgasboard of emotions while reading “Sentinel;” I laughed and cried, and got angry and sometimes wanted to punch certain people in the face – or in other areas – hard. But that was one of the aspects that I loved about this book and series. You were able to feel so much and be able to feel like you were a part of their lives, and were living everything right along with them. I also loved Jennifer’s writing style because it was plain-spoken, and she made the characters so easy to connect with and love. It was truly effortless, and I honestly felt like they were my family, and really wished they were. I would be so incredibly happy if that were true :) There were many surprising twists and turns in this novel that will most likely leave you reeling and craving for more, so be prepared for this amazing and crazy adventure!
All of the characters that I have come to love and adore truly never ceased to amaze and surprise me in this novel. I loved them all dearly and was very pleased by the outcome regarding everyone. Alex and Aiden were as amazing as ever. Their relationship was so addicting and entertaining, and I swear every time they were together, I wanted to squeal like a fangirl. Alex was much more grown up in this book and really came into her own. Her moments of maturity had actually first started in “Apollyon,” but were much more profound in this novel. She was still the same Alex that we all know and hopefully love as before, but even better. I loved her strength, endurance, willpower, humor and sarcasm, and of course her fierce protectiveness towards those she loved and cared about. Aiden, oh gods, he may just be the most perfect fictional male character to ever exist in the literary world. He was amazing, to say the least, and I loved his personality. I loved everything about him, really. It made me smile and swoon even more when he called Alex Agapi Mou, which means “my love” in Greek. Everything he did made you love him even more, and the end just about burst my heart with happiness. I loved them both so very much and am so sad their story is over… for now anyway. Anything is possible, as they say. Seth, oh my gosh… Seth totally threw me for a loop and I was pleasantly surprised by him in this book. I was so happy to see him back and was completely touched by what he did in the end. I cannot wait to read his story in “The Return (Titan, #1),” a spin-off of the Covenant Series. Of course all of the other characters touched my heart just as much as the other three did, and though I was heartbroken about what happened to one or more of them, everything really did work out well in the end, and for that I am extremely grateful.
This book and series was a wild ride and I could literally go on and on about how much I loved “Sentinel” and the entire Covenant Series, but I think you pretty much get the gist of how I felt. Just do me one favor and PLEASE read the Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. You will be over-the-moon happy that you did! :)
