I hope all of you had a good, if not great, year in 2016! My year was full of ups and downs with almost every aspect of life, but books and reading were my saving grace, and I honestly don’t know what I would do without them. I am truly grateful and thankful to God that they are in my life.

   2016 was an average bookish year for me. I read a total of 72 books and many of them were rereads of past favorite books. My top favorite books as shown above were all new reads for me this year, and I truly loved every single one of them. I would have loved to read a few more, but time seemed to slip away from me the last couple months of the year. I hope to read a lot more next year and I plan on trying a variety of new books and authors.

   I had quite a large book haul in the month of December. With all of the great deals and discounts Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Target had for the holidays, I went a little crazy buying new paperbacks. A good majority of them were all new to me and most were from self-published authors. I probably should have taken a few pictures of all the books I acquired and posted them here, but unfortunately I didn’t think of that until just now. Maybe I’ll post them on my Instagram profile (@juliasbookblog) later on instead. If you guys ever have any book recommendations for me, I would love to hear from you! I truly hope and pray all of you have a wonderful, healthy, and prosperous 2017 full of love, laughter, happiness, and of course tons of books! :)
