Review

NO SPOILERS!

Fallen Heir was the fourth installment in The Royals series, and I really enjoyed the storyline and characters. Erin Watt is an extremely talented author duo and their books get better and better with every one they write. I fell in love with The Royals  and their world in Paper Princess, and I have been addicted  to the series ever since. I rarely read Young Adult romance anymore, but this series is definitely the exception. I like that it’s Mature YA, and even though the characters are eighteen and seniors in high school, I can still relate to them in some ways and enjoy reading their story.

The storyline and characters in Fallen Heir were great and I was addicted from page one. Easton Royal intrigued me when he was first introduced in Paper Princess, and I loved finally getting to read the first part of his story. It was certainly different than what I was expecting, but I still really enjoyed it. Some parts of the story were frustrating and annoying at times, and there was quite a bit of drama, but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle. I really liked all of the characters, especially Easton and Hartley, with the exception of a few, but you’ll know who they are when you read the book. Easton and Hartley had great personalities and I liked how their friendship/relationship progressed. Their banter was entertaining and I enjoyed most of their interactions with each other. There were some aspects of mystery and suspense that I wasn’t expecting, but it added a different element to the story and had me on the edge of my seat quite often. I knew there was going to be a huge cliffhanger, but the ending was so unexpected and just about killed me. I’m dying to read Cracked Kingdom and January can’t come fast enough!

Fallen Heir was an awesome start to Easton’s story and I loved getting to see all of the Royals again. Erin Watt did an excellent job with this book and I can’t wait to read more about Easton, Hartley, and everyone else!

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.
