Theo MacLeod wasn’t supposed to be the one.
Tall, dark and handsome suits me just fine, but the cocky grin, know-it-all attitude, and mammoth ego? No thanks. I only hired him so I wouldn’t have to sit at the singles table again. It was just pretend.
He wasn’t supposed to kiss me.
My heart wasn’t supposed to pound.
We weren’t supposed to spend the night together—the hottest night of my life.
One night turns into a snowed-in weekend away, and even the blizzard of the century can’t cool the fire between us. I can’t get enough—of his smile, of his body, of the way he makes me feel.
We’re nothing alike. He’s a daredevil, and I’m a nervous Nellie. He’s a drifter, and I want to put down roots. He’s an opportunist with a checkered past, and I’m a Girl Scout volunteer.
But none of it matters when I’m in his arms.
I know he’s made mistakes. I know his wounds are deep, and he doesn’t trust easily. I know he doesn’t believe he could ever be enough to make me happy, but he could.
All he has to do is stay.
If You Were Mine was absolutely wonderful and I completely fell in love with the storyline and characters Melanie Harlow created. I loved how she told Theo and Claire’s story, and I was utterly addicted from beginning to end.
Theo and Claire were very likeable and relatable characters, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with them and their story. Theo and Claire were amazing and I loved their personalities and chemistry together. I loved how the book progressed and I enjoyed reading it from both of their POV. Theo and Claire weren’t perfect by any means, and they frustrated me from time to time (Theo more than Claire), but I loved their story so much and enjoyed reading every single page. There were several bumps along the way in Theo and Claire’s relationship, but I enjoyed their banter and interactions with each other, and I thought Ms. Harlow did an excellent job with every aspect. I also thoroughly enjoyed the secondary characters, and I absolutely loved getting to see Quinn & Jaime and Jack & Margot again and where all of them were at in their relationships.
If You Were Mine was sexy and romantic and definitely a TOP FAVORITE contemporary romance by the brilliant and extraordinarily talented, Melanie Harlow. I absolutely loved the conclusion to Theo and Claire’s story, and I honestly can’t wait to read more of Ms. Harlow’s entertaining and addicting romances. I have fallen head over heels in love with her writing and I am so excited to read her next new release, From This Moment, in October. If you haven’t read any of her amazing, must read books yet, you simply must do so ASAP!
FIVE “Theo & Claire” STARS!
