Book Review – Transfer (The Retrieval Duet, #2) by Aly Martinez

31422062Synopsis

One story. Two couples.

I fell in love with a man who didn’t exist.

What started out as romance ended in hell.
His words turned to razor blades.
His kisses converted to fists.
His embrace became my cage.
His body transformed into a weapon, stealing parts of me until ultimately….
I broke.

I hated him.
My sole job in life became to protect our daughter.

I wasn’t sure I’d ever escape the prison he’d skillfully crafted from my fears.
Until the day our savior arrived.

This is the story of how I escaped the man who thought he owned me.
The transfer of my life and my family.

Review

NO SPOILERS!

Aly Martinez once again blew me away! Transfer was a sexy, suspenseful, and perfect conclusion to The Retrieval Duet, and I absolutely loved it! The storyline and characters were even better this time around, and I loved Aly Martinez’s writing style. She is a brilliant author, and I’m so happy I discovered her books. The Retrieval Duet has been one of my favorite stories EVER, and I can’t wait to devour more from Ms. Martinez!

The storyline was amazing. The author immediately sucked me in to the second part of Roman, Elisabeth, Heath, and Clare’s epic and unforgettable story, and I didn’t want to stop until I reached the end. It was extremely sexy, riveting, suspenseful, and entertaining, and I loved it so much. All of the plot twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat, and the author kept me guessing until the very end. I’m not a huge romantic suspense reader, but Aly Martinez has me addicted to her brand of romantic suspense. She did a fan-freaking-tastic job with The Retrieval Duet, and it was one of the most epic and enthralling stories I’ve ever read.

The characters were exceptional, and I loved them and their story even more in Transfer. Roman, Elisabeth, Heath, and Clare (and several more) were beyond amazing, and I loved them with all of my heart. Dominate alpha heroes with hearts of gold, and sweet yet feisty heroines, there was literally nothing not to love. I felt an incredibly deep connection with all four of the main characters, and I loved reading Transfer from all of their points of view. It was a true pleasure going on this unforgettable journey with them, and it will be ingrained on my soul forever. I’ve never read anything like The Retrieval Duet, and probably won’t ever again. Roman, Elisabeth, Heath, and Clare’s story was by far one of my favorites, and I was ecstatic with the conclusion. Aly Martinez definitely gave me the ending I so desperately wanted for these two couples, and I couldn’t have loved it more.

Transfer was a perfect conclusion to The Retrieval Duet, and I would HIGHLY recommend it and Retrieval! Aly Martinez blew me away with Roman, Elisabeth, Heath, and Clare’s story, and I absolutely loved it with all of my heart and soul. It’s going to be hard to top this duet, and I know I’m going to have the biggest book hangover, but it was oh so worth it. I’m so happy that I found Aly Martinez and her amazing books, and I’m definitely looking forward to devouring more of them!

About Aly Martinez

Originally from Savannah, Georgia, USA Today bestselling author Aly Martinez now lives in South Carolina with her four young children.

Never one to take herself too seriously, she enjoys cheap wine, mystery leggings, and baked feta. It should be known, however, that she hates pizza and ice cream, almost as much as writing her bio in the third person.

She passes what little free time she has reading anything and everything she can get her hands on, preferably with a super-sized tumbler of wine by her side.
