Review – Rifts and Refrains (Hush Note, #2) by Devney Perry

From the moment Quinn Montgomery sat behind her first snare and cymbal set, she was destined for fame and glory. As Hush Note’s infamous female drummer, she sets the rhythm for the band’s chart-toppings hits. When people tap their feet to their music, it’s to her pulse.

Quinn is content to live in a world away from her family and the cage of her youth. Her only regret is leaving Graham Hayes behind without a goodbye. No matter how many sold-out stadiums she plays, no matter how many crowds sing her songs, his voice haunts her when the music stops.

When a family tragedy forces her to return home to Montana, she plans to leave the second she’s paid her respects. But seeing Graham again turns her life upside down. As a boy, he wasn’t able to make her stay. As a man, he might be her future.

If they can mend their rifts and find solace in the refrains.

Review

NO SPOILERS!

Rifts and Refrains was my first introduction to Devney Perry, and I absolutely LOVED this sweet, sexy, emotional, and entertaining standalone small town, second chance rock star romance! The author’s writing style was superb, and I adored the storyline and characters she created for book two in the amazing Hush Note series.

The storyline was fantastic. I honestly didn’t know what to fully expect, but Devney Perry completely exceeded my expectations. Graham and Quinn’s story was real, raw, emotional, and utterly addicting. I was hooked from beginning to end, and loved every moment of the journey. There were plenty of trials and tribulations to overcome, but all of it was worth it in the end, and I truly couldn’t have been happier with the conclusion. The author gave me the happily ever after I so desperately wanted for Graham and Quinn, and it definitely left a huge smile on my face.

The characters were phenomenal. I loved Graham, Quinn, and Graham’s son Colin. I also loved their families and friends, and enjoyed their addition to the story. Graham and Quinn had undeniable chemistry together, and I loved how their relationship progressed throughout. There was a lot of history between them; some good, some bad. And it wasn’t exactly easy for Graham and Quinn to find their way back to each other. However, I loved watching their love story unfold and won’t forget it any time soon.

Rifts and Refrains was my first taste of Devney Perry’s work, and it definitely won’t be the last. I fell head over heels in love with Graham and Quinn’s sweet, sexy, emotional, and entertaining small town, second chance rock star romance, and I can’t wait to continue the MUST READ Hush Note series in Muses and Melodies!
